Electro-Mechanical Engineer

KJB Recruitment is recruiting for a client based in Hereford. Our client repairs and sells electric motors, pumps and gearboxes. They have been trading for over 40 years and carry out a significant amount of on-site electro-mechanical work. They have a broad customer base ranging from members of the public to small, medium and large industries.

We are looking to recruit an electro-mechanical engineer who will carry out work both in the workshop and out on site. The work carried out by the engineers will cover a vast range of skills used in both these areas. If you are able to bring any of these extra skills mentioned below to the workplace or on-site that would be a great advantage.

DAY TO DAY WORKSHOP WORK

The main role of the electro-mechanical engineer is to carry out mechanical service/repair to AC/DC motors, gearboxes and pumps.

The main tasks involved would be:

  • Dismantle units coming into their workshop
  • Assess the fault of the unit
  • Put together repair quote for customer
  • Carry out repair work once quote approved
  • Follow company procedures to carry out all works, recording data and hours spent

EXTRA SKILLS FOR USE IN THE WORKSHOP

It would be an advantage but not a necessity to have any of the following skills for use in the workshop. Otherwise training will be given where necessary:

  • Experience of winding copper on AC/DC motors
  • Balancing rotors and fans
  • Machining experience using lathe ie for shafts, bearing housing, seal seats
  • Machining experience using mill
  • Welding, MIG, TIG, MMA & Brazing

SKILLS FOR ON SITE WORK

They also carry out a wide range of on-site pump work and predictive maintenance and any experience you have of the following would be an advantage.

  • Servicing clean and dirty water pumps for domestic customers
  • Installing pressurised water systems
  • Troubleshooting failures on site with domestic or industrial pumps and electric motors
  • Experience of factory work – removing and installation of electro mechanical equipment
  • Predictive Maintenance – Vibration Analysis and Thermography

£25,000 to £35,000 Per Annum

Rate of pay will be dependent on previous experience and skills acquired
